Lighthouse Pointe is located on the east shore of Wyboo Creek, on Lake Marion, South Carolina. Lake Marion is the largest lake in the state. It was constructed to allow power generation for the planned growth of the lowcountry of South Carolina. The lands were flooded from waters flowing from the mountains. Under the surface of lake is what was once farm plantations, cypress and pine forest. The lakes are named for two famous Generals from South Carolina, Francis Marion aka The Swamp Fox, and William Moultrie. The Santee Cooper lake system is home to great recreation activities, fishing, hunting, wildlife refuges, watersports, and great times shared by all visitors to our lakes. You can navigate by boat from the north, and the south to the lakes, connected to the tidelands by the Pinnopolis Lock. The locking system will bring you up 74 feet to the lakes to allow you to discover our beautiful lakes.
